Ladies night games for home, not a bar round

A ladies night at home is the evening the group chat named and then held in someone's flat. The games should be ladies night games to play indoors: a question, a vote, or one small challenge that stays in the seat. They should not need a printable, a board that takes over the coffee table, or a walk to a bar between rounds. People also look these up as indoor party games for adults at home. Use them that way when every guest is an adult woman and the party is a ladies night. A mixed group, a children's party, or a teen birthday needs a different plan. If the plan is a bar, a club, or dinner, use the girls night out games instead of stretching these indoor rounds into a queue.

This page is the menu. The girls night in games page is the comparison: rules, player counts, what you need, and how long each game takes. Use that page when you want to choose two games and you already know the night is games. Use this page when you want ladies night games for adults and you want a short how-to-play before you pick two of them. If you want those rounds dealt as a card game in the browser, with no app and no box, the steps are on the girls night card game online page. If you are still choosing a theme, such as a film, a pamper hour, wine and cheese, or a craft, that plan is the girls night ideas at home. Come back here when the theme is "we are playing."

Agree the pass before the first card

Anyone may pass, with no reason, and the turn is over. Do not re-ask. Do not film. If a prompt is about someone who is not in the room, it is a pass. One person reads. The phone stays in Do Not Disturb, face up, where the reader can be heard from the sofa.

Three to eight adults is the comfortable size for ladies night games for home. More than that and the person on the far cushion answers into a side conversation. A guest who is new gets the same turn as everyone else, and the first round should be answerable in one sentence. If the group is on a video call, use the virtual girls night games. If people are staying over, switch to the sleepover games for adults before anyone is trying to sleep. A weekend away has its own list, the girls trip games. If the phone dies, the games with no equipment cover the gap.

How to play ladies night games

Every round on this page uses the same frame. Learn it once, then only the card changes.

  1. One reader, one phone

The host reads the card out loud, or she passes the phone and the next person reads her own card. The rest of the group should not need to see the screen. Brightness up. Notifications off. About eight cards is a round. Then switch games, get water, or stop.

    Best for: the whole night
  2. A finished turn is a short turn

An answer is one or two sentences. A vote is a point or a hand, counted together so the first talker does not pick for the table. A challenge is done in the seat or it is a pass. Nobody owes a story, a photo, or a dare that leaves the room.

Best for: keeping the night moving
  3. The level is a group decision

Start on Chill if someone is new, and on Fun if this group has played before. Spicy stays off until everyone wants it. After Dark is a separate 18+ deck. The game asks you to confirm that everyone playing is old enough before those cards are included, and it is not the default. The 18+ question guide explains when that round fits. A later hour is not permission.

Best for: a group that is not all the same closeness

None of these ladies night games need a drink. If you want a sip, a finger, or a one-sentence story as a forfeit, that rule lives on the drinking games for girls night page, and it has to be agreed before the first card. Play it only if everyone drinking alcohol is of legal drinking age. Water, soda, and tea use the same forfeit if you are using one. Do not attach a sip halfway through because the room laughed.

Ladies night games to play, one round at a time

Two rounds is a full night. The rest of this list is there so you can swap, not so you can finish it.

  1. Icebreakers

How to play: read a card. She answers in one sentence, or she passes. Go around once, including the host, then stop. Use it when people are still finding a seat, or when someone is new. Examples you can say if you want the card to sound like this night: What did you almost bring, and what did you actually walk in with? Who is in charge of the playlist, and who will talk over the third song? What is one house rule for tonight that would sound fussy in a restaurant?

    Play the Icebreakers deck

Best for: the first ten minutes
  2. Would You Rather

How to play: read the first choice, pause, then the second. Count to three. Left hand for the first, right hand for the second, or just say it. A tie can stand. Saying neither is a pass. Keep any reason to one sentence. The written set is the would you rather questions. A faster cousin, with no story at all, is the this or that questions for friends.

Play the Would You Rather deck

Best for: a group that likes picking sides
  3. Most Likely To

How to play: read the prompt. Count to three. Everyone points at the same time, including the reader. The person with the most fingers gets one sentence of defence if she wants it. Point only at people who are playing. Skip any line that does not fit who actually came. More prompts are on the Most Likely To questions page. A whispered version, where one person answers with a name and you flip a coin, is the paranoia questions game. Use that only with a group that already likes the joke.

Play the Most Likely To deck

Best for: friends who can take a joke
  4. Never Have I Ever

How to play: read the card. Anyone who has done it says so. Do not demand the story. Start on Chill or Fun. This is a confession round, not a reason to drink. The written list is the Never Have I Ever questions. The phone deals a different set. If the group wants the admission to cost a sip, switch to the drinking-games rules first.

Play the Never Have I Ever deck

Best for: a group that already knows each other
  5. Truth

How to play: the card is already a truth, so she does not pick truth or dare first. Read it. She answers in a sentence or two, or she passes. Do not offer a harder question as a bargain. If the truth is about someone outside the room, she passes. The link selects only the Truth deck. Written prompts with the same pass rule are on the truth or dare questions. If the answers start running long, leave the cards and use the deep questions to ask your friends. One friend in the chair, with the group asking, is the hot seat questions for friends.

    Play the Truth deck

    Best for: a quieter stretch
  6. One indoor challenge

How to play: read one challenge, maybe three, then stop. She does it, or she passes. If it needs a prop you do not have, a stranger, a trip outside, a phone camera, or a post, it is an automatic pass. Keep it in the seat: a voice, a toast, a ten-second bit. Nothing is filmed. The link selects only the Challenge deck, which is the dare half of truth or dare. A guessing round that needs no dare is the two truths and a lie ideas. A three-name bit, when the room wants something silly and still indoors, is the kiss marry kill game.

    Play the Challenge deck

Best for: one silly beat, then done

Six questions you can read aloud

Use these when you want a ladies-night sentence the shuffle did not deal. They are not the cards in the deck. A pass still ends the turn.

  1. Who will be in charge of the music, and who will veto the third song?
  2. What did you almost cancel tonight, in one sentence that is not an apology?
  3. Who is most likely to suggest one more round, and who is right to say no?
  4. Would you rather host and choose nothing, or arrive and be handed a seat you did not pick?
  5. What is a kitchen job you will actually do, and which job will you narrate while someone else does it?
  6. What is one specific thank-you for a person in this room, with the speech left out?

When the ladies night is also for a bride

Use Bride Mode only when the night is for a bride, the people playing have agreed, and she wants a round about her. She can pass. If anyone who did not come for that is still in the room, do not open it. A small at-home hen do has its own list on the hen party games at home page. The how well do you know the bride quiz needs no forfeits. A family-friendly shower on one phone is the bridal shower games on phone. A hosting plan for a US bachelorette is the bachelorette games on one phone, and the bachelorette party questions are a written set. A dated night can still borrow a list and then come back here for the rounds: Christmas, New Year's Eve, a birthday, Galentine's Day, Halloween, or Friendsgiving. A bottle that is the point of some other evening is the wine night games.

How the buttons open the game

Each button on this page opens setup with that one deck already selected and the others switched off. The level starts on Fun. Drop it to Chill while people are still arriving, or if someone at the table is new. Spicy stays off until the whole group wants it. Pass the phone after each card.

The example prompts on this page are not the cards in the deck. Read them when you want a ladies-night line the shuffle did not deal. If the room liked being read to from a page, stay with the written guides linked above. If they liked being dealt to, stay on the phone. The funny and juicy written set, with no score, is the girls night questions to ask.

You do not pay per deck. Pricing on this phone is the same as the rest of the site: first 6 cards free, full unlock one-time $4.99. It is not a subscription.

Deal one round, then let people talk.

Open the game on the shared phone and play the first round while everyone can still hear the reader. The first 6 cards are free to start.
